About Miss Orengo

About Miss Orengo

My name is Christina Orengo, and this is my first year teaching 2nd grade at Red School House Elementary. I graduated from Benedictine University, in Lisle, Illinois, with a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education. I had the opportunity to work in various settings, with students of all ability levels. Additionally, I have volunteered teaching religious education to students with learning disabilities.

I have wanted to be a teacher since I was in 5th grade. My fifth grade teacher was someone I looked up to. He treated the class with respect; he took an interest in his students, and made lasting bonds that carried us through our most difficult times. He helped us to realize that learning could be fun, and exists in other forms than memorizing math facts. He taught with more genuine heart than any other teacher I have had. If I can make my students feel as talented as he made my class feel, I know my students will succeed. My one hope is that everyday in my classroom is as wonderful for my students as it was for me as a student.
